I love all of these new contributors! And, even though I probably won't use hair product, I think the focus of this piece is awesome, Lisa.

Now when we'll we get to see bio's for all the new contributors?

Being carless is a wonderful thing! My family and I have been on the Kenyan coast for three months, due to my husband's work. We will be here for three more. We opted not to get a car while here and have been relying on our feet, tuk-tuks and the occassional taxi. We live close to stores, so it is easy to walk. I wish it was so easy to do this back home in Michigan! We live on the outskirts of Haslett, have three kids with active schedules and no options for public transport. Short of selling our house and finding a home in a walkable community, I am reduced to my large piece of heavy machinery to get us from here to there and everywhere. Granted, I try to be efficient, but it still feels heavy. Best of luck on your journey! (I grew up in NJ near NYC and didn't get a license until I was 24! Those were the days!)

Despite the fantastic awesomeness that is TEDx, I can't be there on the 13th.

This makes me sad, and also hopeful that the stories will all be up on the website!

WOW! This is incredible! I grew up in Lansing and now live in Grand Rapids... I so wish I would have heard about this event beforehand. Just READING the article made me excited and feel like I was part of something bigger than myself. Nice work to all who made this happen.

The good news:

The building has had a pair of tenants lined up for several months who will be moving in later this year. We even creeped upstairs to check out where a friend's future office would be.

Just catching up with some of my favorite blogs, and wanted to give you a shout and say what an awesome review of Frost Fest this is.
This was my first time at the event, and I had a great time (most likely, due to the fact that I was not seated on a block of ice). I agree that the people of Michigan should enjoy outdoor events that celebrate each season, and Winter is one of them.
(I think I saw Van Der Beek around too...)

I love how it is the little mundane things in life that can trigger awareness and awakening to the illuminated realities! Good job, airline safety card. Great article on taking time for yourself. Love the suggestions - thanks for sharing.

Follow up question for the fine folks at LC - Know a local store that sells wool clothing? I'd optimally like to outfit my family with warm wooly stuff this season, and all I can think of is Moosejaw in EL. Not that I don't like them, but there has to be a family owned place, right?

I'm so glad that you posted about this event ahead of time so I could help out! It was a wonderful time, and so many people benefited from this unique opportunity. Thanks for the heads up; I would never have known otherwise :)
