As most of you dear readers probably know, a few of us bloggers at Lansing Collective absolutely love riding our bicycles and taking alternative means of transportation around the city. Those who don’t know this? Just take a look here, here, or here!
Anyways, I have been trying to get together with my wonderful friend Neal to take a bike ride through our eastside neighborhood when it hit me: why not get a group of Lansingites together and take a group ride! Thus, the idea was born and Neal and I decided to plan an Eastside Group Ride this weekend and tag it “bike for beer!”, since one of our favorite local cafes has received their long awaited liquor license and now serves beer!
That’s right- a group bicylce ride through the beautiful streets of Lansing AND delicious food and beverage from a local favorite! What could be better on a summer Saturday in the city?
So, if you want to meet some of your Lansing Collective bloggers, Eastside neighbors, and fellow bicycle ethusiasts (beginner or experienced, all are welcome!!!) join us on Saturday, June 23rd! Details below:
What: Eastside Group Ride: Bike for beer! (or any beverage/meal for that matter. heck! just bike and skip the food if you want!)
When: Saturday, June 23rd. 12 p.m. start!
Where: We will be meeting at Foster Park, on Kalamazoo between Hayford and Francis, for a casual group ride around the Eastside, ending at Gone Wired Cafe, located on 2021 E. Michigan Ave., for some local eating, drinking, and great conversation!
Why: Fun! Meet new people! A great way to spend a beautiful day!
In addition to the biking fun on Saturday, there are so many other great things to do! If you are an early riser, Urbandale Farm is celebrating its birthday on Saturday as well! If you want to come check it out, help with farm tasks, or just like cake, join some of us from 10AM-whenever we leave for the ride.
653 South Hayford, just South and West of the Foster Park starting point.
It will be an action packed Saturday in Lansing! I hope to see some of you around town, and hey, why not come and ride a bike with me!?
